A great foundation at a relatively great price March 11, 2010 Lori F. Sotero (Arizona) I've always had oily skin that tends to break out so I always have to be careful what kind of foundation I use. This particular formula goes on very easily, a little covers a lot, it does NOT feel at all greasy and doesn't look dried out on the skin. I tried the much pricier Laura Mercier oil-free foundation which was very good too but I have to say that I feel this formula is less oily and 'thick' and amazingly reasonable ($26 - pump is optional at $6 extra). Just goes to show that sometimes a less expensive brand doesn't mean the quality will be lessened. In this case I was pleasantly surprised and will continue to use MAC Foundation.
Freaky skin - August 7, 2009 E. R. Sutherland (Rochester, MN USA) I use NC21, i bought it because it was recommended to cover redness, and it works really well for that. However, my skin is really sensitive and it reacted badly with this makeup. Sad day. I wish i could wear it, but i can't. It's a good foundation if your skin can handle it.
My 'new' favorite :-) June 29, 2009 Little Miss Cutey (Melbourne, Australia) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I so wish I'd tried this earlier. I was always happy using what I've been using, until a friend recommended this and I thought eventually, "Why not?". It is AMAZING. I personally think this is one of the very best foundations I've used in my life, and I've been wearing make up for almost 20 years ...
It gives me enough coverage to minimise my freckles and tone down my red cheeks that I sometimes get. It goes on smoothly, and a little goes a long way for sure. It's also the first foundation I've worn, where people actually comment on it. I am wrapped with it. There are so many colors to choose from, and while I work with makeup and can always find my own color on my own, I did need help with this from a MAC specialist. With that many colors, there's bound to be one for you and I highly recommend it. It does have a sunscreen, but little or no UVA protection. Other than that it's great.
(If there is one complaint only ... I hate glass bottles because it's sometimes hard to get out the last drops. I'm sure if you voice this concern to the MAC company/people, they'll suggest you use a brush which is an additional sale, but I think using your fingers works best - well, for me it does).
I highly highly recommend this.

Great coverage but Terrible for Complexions March 22, 2009 jd (Manor) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My sister used to use this all the time, and she told me how amazing it made her look, but she also said it contributed to her break-outs. After trying just about every other foundation out there, none of them matching my skin tone well or lasting long or providing good overall coverage, I broke down and hit up the M.A.C. store.
Yes, the coverage is great, but it also looks heavy. And within an hour of wearing it, my skin felt oily. I checked in the mirror, and sure enough, I looked very shiny, and if I made the mistake of touching my face, the makeup shifted under my fingertips, coating my hands in makeup and leaving bare spots on my face. I blotted and used powder, but I still looked like I had heavily caked on foundation.
After a few days, I was breaking out like a teenager, no matter how well I cleaned off my makeup as soon as I got home from work each day. And even after cleansing, my skin was horribly oily within hours. It was disgusting.
I finally gave up on it and switched to bare minerals. What an amazing difference!
