Bay Rum Hand Lotion

3 1/2 cup distilled water*
3 ounces glycerin
3 ounces bay rum
1/4 ounce gum of tragacanth

* or water boiled for 10 minutes.

Soak the gum of tragacanth overnight in distilled water.

Strain and beat with an egg beater. Add glycerin and bay rum and mix well with egg beater. Pour into sterilized bottles, then cork or cover with tight-fitting lid.
