Worth Every Penny October 23, 2008 Heart Mind Soul (Durham, NC) I have purchased cosmetics from drugstore brands (i.e. Covergirl) to beauty counter brands (i.e. Bobbi Brown)and I am incredibly impressed with this product. I bought the brownstone set and will buy more. The instructions were simple but detailed and the effect was the best I have ever been able to get with any makeup. The product stays on really well. The eye primer is the best I have ever used; it evens out the skin color around my eyes and it holds the eye makeup well. There aren't brushes, but brushes that come with kits are usually not that good and it's better to buy your own set of good brushes to use anyway. The amount of makeup in the kit is generous and will last a very long time so the price is more than justified with that alone in my opinion. The kit is big and heavy, not something I would toss in a handbag, but it lasts well enough through the day that I don't need touch ups. You can also mix and match the colors for different effects so you can make it subtle or bold. I'm glad I came across Mally Beauty!
Looks too dark and fake February 19, 2008 Conrayber (Phoenix, AZ- United States) 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
The shadows and eyeliner are, in fact, smooth and very easy to apply and the accompanying instructions a valuable add-on. However, though I used a very tiny amount and applied the shadows with four professional-grade brushes, the result was always too dark. The eyeliner glides easily and smoothly but, as it is black, all it does is add to the overall darkness. I only wish Mally realized not every woman likes black eyeliner and not all of us are after a "fake" look or eager to camouflage our own features with dark make-up. Unless this kit comes out with much softer, natural shades, I will not buy again.
Beautiful Eyes Made Easy February 12, 2008 Michael T. Fenning (Dayton, OH USA) This eye kit has really made my getting ready time faster and easier. I love the instrucitons and the eye color wears like iron. I can now get my look together in half the time. I have this in two colors and I want more!
Mally smokey eyes! January 12, 2008 J. M. White Mally eye shadows will do wonders for your look. It takes practice to get it right. But once you get the hang of it... you will be amazed. Go lightly at first. Add more layers for a more intense Smokey eye look. Many thanks to my co-worker Michele for telling me, but more importantly, for demonstrating how Mally works with own creative use of Mally beauty products! Thank you!
Wonderful product that is easy to apply! September 8, 2007 Leanne (San Diego, CA) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I ordered the Plum Chelsea set a few weeks ago from Amazon, but wanted to wait and use it a few times before writing a review. All I can say is that I'm very impressed with how easy it is to do a smokey eye with this kit and how great my green eyes look when I use it! Before buying this set, I'd watched a video on the QVC website showing Mally applying the shadows to a model, but was a little skeptical of how easy it looked. When I got my kit, though, I followed the directions and had great results! The primer/base that comes in the kit is fabulous, and each time I've used the set, my eye makeup has stayed on all day or evening, for many hours. I've never had such great results before! The shadows are also nice in that you can apply them a little more lightly to wear during the day, or use the (included) black eyeliner and layer the shadow on more to make the look more intense for night. The price is a bit steep, but this kit will last for awhile. I definitely recommend it, and I'm planning on buying a few more colors to try! Edited to say: I now have three of these palettes (Plum Chelsea, Canal Street Khaki, and Brownstone) and love how versatile they are. They have a bit of sheen to them, but nothing that would make me, as a 37-year-old, feel uncomfortable at work. I am also very fair, with brown hair and green eyes, and I can play with each color palette to achieve different looks. They are great!
