I have been consistently using this product for over a year now. It's the only waxing system that has worked perfectly for me. It's easy to use and the tub is easy to warm up, but I would suggest doing in 30 second increments depending on your microwave. If done correctly, the wax comes off easily and the oil is great for afterward, although if doing entire legs extra oil would be nice. Altogether, I will continue buying this product until they stop selling it!

This wax works pretty well. The oil does a nice job of removing the stickiness of the left-over wax, if not removing the wax itself (which will come off afterwards anyway). The only problem I found with this product is that it does not wash off easily, so be careful when using it. Also when microwaving, don't put it in the middle which is what I did and the whole tub melted and caused a big mess.

I received this Avon Skin So Soft as a gift so I thought I'd give it a try. After closely following the directions, I tried a small patch on my lower legs. Beside the obvious pain (which really wasn't bad), the wax does not come all the way off when you pull up on the cloth strips. It left bits of dried wax all over the small "test patch" area on my leg which I used the entire bottle Soothing oil (provided in the kit) to remove most of the wax. They need to provide a gallon of this oil to remove the wax if you're going to wax your entire legs. Do not bother with this kit. Spend the extra money and go to a salon to have a professional do it!

2 teaspoons beeswax, melted
1 ounce camphor or menthol
Alkanet root (optional) Heat sesame oil, beeswax and camphor or menthol to the boiling point. Remove from heat. Beat until cool. Whip until it is cold or set. The camphor is for chapped lips, and menthol gives a mint-like taste. You can use 1/2 ounce of each, if desired. For colored gloss: Soak alkanet root in the sesame oil for 2 weeks. This will color the oil a dark red. Strain the oil before combining it with the beeswax and camphor or menthol. |
